The office of Connie Lawson, Indiana Secretary of State in Indianapolis, provides authentication and apostille service on documents originating in Indiana.

Documents that can be apostilled include private and business documents such as bylaws, powers of attorney or articles of incorporation; vital records, for example: birth marriage, death certificates signed by a notary public or government official from the state of Indiana.

If you need an apostille on vital records, be aware that certified copies should be obtained from the State Department of Health. Please note that records issued at the county level are not acceptable for apostille.

To apostille a certified copy of a marriage license or divorce decree, It must be obtained from the Circuit Court clerk at the originating county.

To obtain an apostille for a diploma or transcript issued from Purdue University, Indiana University or University of Notre Dame, please make sure they are correctly notarized.
