Application and Notarization Service for U.S. Criminal Record (FBI Criminal Record)

CHV offers comprehensive services for FBI criminal record applications in the United States, including fingerprinting, application submission, and three-level consular authentication. Whether you are in China or the U.S., we are your reliable choice.

For those who have resided in the United States for more than six months, a Police Certificate may be required when applying for immigration. Regardless of whether you hold a Chinese passport, a Chinese passport with a green card, or were on a student visa at the time, we can provide FBI criminal record agency services.

Two Types of U.S. Criminal Record Certificates:

1. U.S. criminal record certificate applied for through the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI criminal record check).

2. Criminal record certificate issued by the local police department (Police Department) and signed/stamped by a notary public.

Applying for a Green Card or Employment in China

In April 2017, the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs required applicants for employment permits nationwide to provide a criminal record certificate issued by the judicial authorities of their country of nationality or habitual residence. It explicitly stated that declaratory or sworn criminal record certificates are not accepted. The FBI-issued criminal record certificate must undergo two steps of authentication: U.S. Department of State authentication and Chinese Embassy authentication in the U.S. Only this authenticated version is accepted by relevant Chinese authorities.

FBI Application and Processing Time

Applying for a U.S. criminal record certificate from the FBI. The normal processing time for an FBI record application is 13-15 weeks. Due to the lengthy application period, our agency service for FBI criminal record certificates significantly shortens the processing time. Expedited service takes 5-10 business days, while urgent service takes 2-3 business days.

Experience Sharing

Avoid fingerprint collection agencies in Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou, as their fees are high, and sometimes the fingerprints they collect are not accepted by the FBI. When using a U.S. criminal record certificate for immigration to Canada, Australia, or New Zealand, Hague Apostille authentication is not required. The FBI-issued criminal record certificate can be submitted directly to the consulate. Some applicants provide both state-level and FBI criminal record certificates when applying for immigration.
