It serves as a common ground for shared values and practices among institutions in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Latin America, and other international institutions approved by the SACSCOC Board of Trustees. The Commission accredits institutions that award associate, bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degrees. It also accepts applications from other international higher education institutions.
NWCCU
The Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU) is an independent, nonprofit membership organization recognized by the U.S. Department of Education since 1952 as the regional authority on educational quality and institutional effectiveness for higher education institutions in the seven-state Northwest region of Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, and Washington. It fulfills its mission by establishing accreditation standards and evaluation procedures for assessing institutions.
WASC (ACCJC-ACSCU)
The Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) is an official academic body responsible for accrediting public and private universities, colleges, secondary schools, and elementary schools in California, Hawaii, Guam, American Samoa, and the Northern Mariana Islands. It also extends to the Marshall Islands, the Federated States of Micronesia, Palau, the Pacific Rim, East Asia, and the Pacific and East Asia regions.
