Official Announcement from the Chinese Embassy in the UK

1. To facilitate the orderly resumption of cross-border travel, starting from March 15, 2021, the Chinese Embassy and Consulates in the UK will provide the following conveniences to visa applicants who have been vaccinated with Chinese-produced COVID-19 vaccines and can provide proof of vaccination:

(1) Foreign nationals and their family members traveling to China for necessary work and production resumption activities in various sectors may prepare and submit their application materials according to pre-pandemic requirements, without needing to provide the "Invitation Letter (PU)", "Invitation Letter (TE)", or "Invitation Verification Notice" issued by provincial foreign affairs or commercial departments.

(2) The scope of visa issuance for those traveling to China due to "urgent humanitarian needs" will be appropriately expanded. Applicable individuals include foreign family members of Chinese citizens or permanent residents, such as spouses, parents, children, and other close relatives living together (referring to siblings, grandparents, grandchildren). Reasons for travel include family reunions, support, visiting relatives, attending funerals, or visiting critically ill relatives in China.

(3) Holders of valid APEC Business Travel Cards may apply for business visas by presenting their valid APEC Business Travel Card and an invitation letter from a domestic Chinese inviting entity.

(4) Holders of currently valid work, private affairs, or family reunion residence permits in China will no longer face restrictions when entering China.

2. The above conveniences apply only to visa applicants who have been fully vaccinated with two doses of Chinese-produced COVID-19 vaccines at the required intervals, or have received a single-dose Chinese-produced vaccine at least 14 days prior, and can provide proof of vaccination.

3. The requirements for passengers traveling to China by air to present both negative nucleic acid test and serum IgM antibody test results for COVID-19 remain unchanged. Upon entry, please comply with China's relevant regulations on quarantine and observation.
