China Visa Photo Requirements Explained

Basic Photo Specifications

• Size: 2 inches x 2 inches (51mm x 51mm)
• Background: plain white or light-colored
• Recency: taken within the last 6 months
• Type: front-facing, bareheaded, color photo
• Face proportion: 70%-80% of the photo

Photography Requirements

• Natural facial expression with mouth closed
• Both eyes open, looking directly at the camera
• No glasses allowed (including frameless glasses and tinted contact lenses)
• No hats or head coverings (religious exceptions permitted, but face must be fully visible)
• Hair must not cover the face
• Photos cropped from casual pictures are not accepted

Common Reasons for Photo Rejection

• Photo dimensions do not meet requirements
• Background is not white
• Wearing glasses
• Poor photo quality (blurry, overexposed, or too dark)
• Photo is too old (more than 6 months)
